Reunions remind us of eternity.”

I have experienced this truth to the full in the past few weeks. Hugs, coffee dates, pasta making and story telling with family and friends have filled my days. And it has been such a picture of the heavenly reunion we will experience.

And the first question on everyone’s mind is: What’s next Lindsey?

It’s a fair question.

My answer: ???

I don’t know. After 11 months abroad I decided it was time to come back to the US. But now I’m in a unique place where I don’t know what’s next. Everything in my life has a question mark at the end. What? When? Where? How?

I feel like a college student who just graduated and could go anywhere and do anything. An exciting, overwhelming and scary thought.

But I’m calling this a season of “tabernacling” as I walk with God through the question marks.

I’ve been meditating on this passage:

Exodus 13:21-22 “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light that they might travel by day and by night. The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.”

This passage has been such a comfort that God is with me in this season.  I may not have all the answers right now - job, location, transportation, housing - but I have tangibly experienced His presence and I know He will reveal each step as I continue moving my feet. As I talk with friends I've realized that maybe we are always in a season of tabernacling, sometimes we are just more aware of it than others. A cloud by day and fire by night.

For now I am landing back in Boston with my family.

So once we answered that question, the coffee dates continued with stories, lessons learned and favorite foods. Since I wish I had time to share with all of you I compiled a list of the questions I received and answers I gave. I’ll be posting that soon.

Thank you all so much for your prayers, encouragement and support this year. I could not have done it without you. And God did so many incredible miracles in my life and the lives of students and friends. It's a blessing to join Him in His work. This year confirmed my heart for ministry, love of writing and desire "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:12)

My plan is to continue posting as I am unpacking both my suitcases and my mind of the souvenirs I gained. And a few other writing projects to be on the lookout for! So I’ll pick up where I left off in Eastern Europe…
