I got to be a philosopher. When I look back on the weekend my favorite parts were sitting around good food, having good conversation, about life and God.

We are in this city known for its philosophers, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. We sat at the Parthenon, visited Corinth, and Mars Hill and we learned all about this city. Famous for learning and thinking. And that’s what I got to do.

We would spend the mornings hearing lectures, and spend the evenings eating and talking. Having the time and space to dive into hard topics and questions we don’t have answers to. To sit with friends over Greek yogurt and challenge one another in how we live out our faith. Or sit on a rooftop bar and talk about using social media for the glory of God. Or wandering the streets and reflecting on the joy that we are saved by grace alone.

It was a week of learning. It was a week of philosophying.
Here’s some of my takeaways:
Drugs, sex, alcohol. It’s not about how far can we go? It’s about how close can we get to Jesus.
I’m challenged and convicted about how I can use social media to love God and love others. How can I use it as a mission field?
Grace alone, through faith alone.
