The best way to describe Orvieto is like The Disneyland of Italy. Where all your dreams come true and the beauty is curated for your experience. Except that in Orvieto beauty isn’t curated. But you walk down the streets and it feels like someone decided to perfectly place the bike leaning up against the wall, with the antique car behind it, in front of the beautiful home with the flowers and laundry on the line. And I had to keep reminding myself that people on the streets weren’t extras in a movie about Italy. The man was just sitting outside reading his book and smoking his pipe like he does every other day.

My favorite part was walking slowly down the main road taking pictures of all the side streets. I was talking with Abby about how beautiful and unique each one was and then we turned a corner and both of us made a squeak/scream. It was too cute we had to stop. The little blue truck sitting there was like finding gold! We ran down the street to get the perfect picture.

We walked around the corner and found a church. As I entered the door I heard singing that could only be an angel or a Disney Princess. My friend Kylie was enjoying the acoustics of the building and praising God with her beautiful voice. Magical.

The train ride home I leaned against the window and watched the sunset and the trees go by. Hannah and I both laughing when we say the castles in the hillside.
