I was so excited. It was like Christmas Eve. We are going to Greece! We are going to Greece! Can you believe it! Guess what guess what? We are in Greece!

The excitement was actually more fun! The anticipation and the joy of what was to come and sharing that with people. Greece has never been a place I needed to go. But somehow I found myself so excited.
Of course I’ve seen all the movies, Mamma Mia, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. But something in me was so excited for our trip. I was jumping up and down on the platform at the train station and singing all the songs with the girls.
It reminds me of advent. There’s something so beautiful about anticipation. Waiting and expecting. The joy of knowing something good is about to come. It’s almost just as good as the thing itself. To expect.
We have been talking about advent in our staff meetings. We want to incorporate it into our weekly rhythm with the students over the upcoming weeks. And my friend shared something I really appreciated. She noted how unique it is that we are nearing the end of our semester and we are entering a season of anticipation with advent. In a time where we might think God has done everything He has wanted to do with the semester we are reminded to stay expectant. God is still at work and he has more to come! The best to come! To keep looking forward, and not just this semester, but everyday until he comes again!
